Behind the recipes

Hi, I’m Christy

I’m a picky eater. There, I said it. And to make matters worse, I hate doing dishes. Those two things are exactly why I learned to cook at a young age. In our house, if you cooked and set the table, you were off the hook for cleanup. That was all the motivation I needed.

I started with boxed meals, but over time I became more curious and more confident. By high school, I wanted to learn how to cook from scratch, especially the kinds of things that felt a little magical: pasta, bread, and desserts. With help from my mom and grandmothers, I learned the basics and spent a lot of time experimenting along the way.

The recipes you’ll find here are built from that place – practical, approachable, and meant to be enjoyed without making a mess of your whole day.
