I’ve said this countless times to people who ask how I know what I know or how I manage to create the things I make. It’s honestly the best way I can explain myself.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been figuring things out—how to make our home decor feel beautiful, how to create family-friendly recipes, how to make holidays feel magical, and how to take on creative DIY projects that truly make a house feel like home.

Where this all began
Growing up, we had one simple rule in our house: whoever cooks doesn’t have to do the dishes. I hate doing dishes, so I started cooking around six or seven years old. Over time, I graduated from kid-friendly meals to doing everything I could from scratch. I especially loved tackling more complex recipes just to wow my family. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to learn from many wonderful people, each of whom taught me something valuable in the kitchen—and I can’t wait to pass those lessons on to you. Home, family, and creativity
My husband and I have been married for nearly 20 years. Our daughter is in her early 20s, and our son is in high school. It’s hard to believe how quickly they’ve grown up. Adjusting to this new phase of motherhood has been a challenge—funny how you forget just how exhausting the little-kid years were once they’re behind you. While I miss those days sometimes, I absolutely love watching them grow into the amazing people they’re becoming.
My mom is a retired interior designer, and over the years she involved me in many of her projects, sparking my own love for home decor. Together, we’ve transformed multiple houses into homes, and my mind is constantly buzzing with ideas. Working with a small budget has made me especially creative when it comes to making our home feel intentional without overspending.
This blog was created as a place to share my home decor ideas, favorite recipes, DIY projects, organizing tips, and—of course—everything I love about the holidays. It’s also where I’m documenting the journey of turning our new-build house into a home full of character and charm.
